You're invited to the Slaughter family table, bon appétit.
Last month, Gun Interactive released a new unrated trailer of gameplay footage from their upcoming horror release, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. Based on the beloved film co-written and directed by Tobe Hooper, the game will release in 2023. This new footage includes nods to the original film series through the eerie gas station, harrowing Slaughter family home, and gory slaughter factory. Players will have the option to play as a survivor whose goal is to escape, or a member of the flesh-hungry family whose goal is to kill them off before they escape.
The trailer opens with a warning that content may be inappropriate for children, adding to the anticipation of what is to come. We then see a woman crawling out of a vehicle, where she is slashed by what can only be a member of the “Slaughter” Family, a reference to Texas Chain Saw Massacre: The Next Generation (1995), a spinoff of the original film series. A gruesome series of scenes play out, many similar to scenes from the series of films. The fight to escape is desperate, but the will to kill is fiercer at the hands of Leatherface and his family.
Regarding the character gameplay options, Gun Interactive states, “As a victim, you must use your wits and stealth to stay out of the Family's reach to find the tools you need to lead to your eventual freedom. Slaughter Family players must seek out, track down, and stop their guests from escaping. Players of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre can finally find out if they have what it takes to survive.”
