Fantastic Fest Returns to Austin in September with Eight Days of Horror and Sci-Fi Film Premieres

October comes early for horror and science fiction genre film fans.

The 18th Fantastic Fest arrives in South Austin for eight fantastic, bizarre, and outrageous days starting on September 22, inviting film lovers to celebrate films with plenty of screenings, special guest appearances, events, and more. With just 100 days before the festival begins, programmers are currently scouting the globe for the most "boundary-pushing, scare-inducing, and thought-provoking" films to bring to audiences. Last year's festival experienced challenges dealing with the pandemic but managed to feature 25 world premieres, including Simon Barret's V/H/S/94 (2021) and Scott Derrickson's The Black Phone (2021). This year promises mind-blowing and exciting features.

Badges are currently on sale, but you better hurry because they're selling fast. There are multiple badge levels to choose from with hybrid and in-person options. Fantastic Fest is offering badges for FF@Home as an add-on for those who purchase a new badge for its in-person festival. All physical badge holders can enjoy a friendly discounted price on their virtual badges. Purchase in-person and virtual badges here.

Fantastic Fest has you covered for those who can’t physically make it to the festival. By officially going hybrid, Fantastic Fest is accessible for those who can't make the trip to Austin. FF@Home takes place right on the heels of its in-person Fest, from September 29 through October 4, available to anyone who lives in the United States. Enjoy a selection of brand new features and crowd-favorites from past editions, plus a new online-only section of programming—Burnt Ends, brings you the weirdest, wildest, most fringe films out there.
